Suitable for all skin types, this laser treatment targets the upper layer of the dermis to stimulate collagen formation, reducing wrinkles and giving the face a fuller, healthier look. Age spots or pigmented lesions as well as facial redness or Rosacea are also reduced during the course of a treatment. A series of 6 treatments, 2-4 weeks apart, are typically required for maximal effect, but results can be seen within the first few treatments. Even better results can be achieved by combining treatments with Microdermabrasion.
At Skinn Laser Clinic, we use the latest technology to achieve safe, reliable, and effective results. The laserscope Lyra I Nd/yag laser has been FDA approved for the reduction of wrinkles by gently warming the upper dermis, improving the overall appearance of your skin. The result is a healthier and more vibrant look for your skin. All of our laser technicians are fully trained and certified in the use of cosmetic lasers and work under the supervision of an experienced and fully licensed physician. How does the Laser Wrinkle Reduction Work? The 1064nm NDYag laser is used to gently warm the deeper layers or dermal layer of the skin, without injuring the upper layers or epidermal layer. The results are subtle after each individual treatment, but noticeable improvement is usually seen by the third or fourth treatment. Mild redness may be seen for up to several hours after treatment, but other side effects, such as bruising, burning, or excessive skin irritation, are not a concern with the Laser Photo.
Do I need to do anything before the Laser treatment? Tanning (including self-tanners) should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks before and 1 week after each treatment. The face should also be free of any makeup or heavy or scented creams prior to treatment. Exfoliating creams, such as Retinoic or glycolic acid, should be discontinued for about 2 days prior as well.
How long does it take? The procedure itself takes about 45 minutes for a full face treatment, but times can vary according to the size of the areas being treated. Doing a full face and neck, for example, can take up to an hour.
What will I feel? Most people feel a gentle warming sensation over the area being treated. The skin may feel a little tighter and look slightly red following the treatment.
Is it safe? Laser Photos are very safe for all skin types and are virtually risk free. Some mild redness may be seen immediately after each treatment, but usually resolves within hours.
How many treatments are required? The treatment results are often very subtle. On average, 4 to 6 treatments may be required in order to achieve the desired results. Some people require more treatments due to the condition of their skin. Touch up treatments may also be required from time to time.
How long do the results last? Results are variable. The improvement is generally permanent, however it does not reverse the ageing process. How long the effect lasts for generally depends on how you care for your skin between treatments.
