Laser Vein Removal
Many people suffer from veins on their legs or on their face. Often the cause is hereditary, and the impact on any given individual can be tremendous. Many people will avoid activities that may require shorts or a bathing suit simply because they feel the veins make them look unattractive. With recent advancements in laser technology, we, at Skinn Laser Clinic we can remove many of those veins permanently and safely. Stop worrying about the blush of Rosacea, spider veins on your face, or troublesome veins on your legs, and call us to book your free medical consultation with an experienced and fully licensed physician to learn how we can treat this common problem.

How does Laser Vein Removal work?
The laser emits a powerful beam of light, which is absorbed by the blood within the veins. The heat generated then coagulates or seals off the targeted veins without causing damage to the epidermis or surrounding tissue. Laser Vein removal works best on smaller more superficial veins anywhere on the body.

What Results can I expect?
Laser Vein Removal is very effective when used on the appropriate veins. Most finer or spider like veins can be removed within 1 to 2 treatments. Larger or deeper leg veins may require more treatments. For some, the veins will disappear completely without any visible trace. Others, however, may experience some bruising or discoloration which can take up to several weeks to resolve completely. Treatments are generally spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. In addition laser vein treatment may remove some hair that may be in the treated area.

Is Laser Vein Removal for you?
If you are unhappy with veins on your face or avoid wearing shorts or skirts in the summer because of unsightly varicose veins, then Laser Vein Removal will likely help. Clients on certain types of medications, which make them overly sensitive to sunlight, may also be poor candidates for Laser Vein Removal. A consultation is therefore generally advised before the initiation of any treatment to determine suitability and safety.

Do I need to do anything before the Laser Vein Removal treatment?
Tanning (including self-tanners) should be avoided for at least 3-4 weeks before and 2 weeks after each treatment. Compression stockings are recommended before and after each treatment. Sometimes you may have to shave any hair.

How long does it take?
Treatment times vary depending on the size of the area being treated or the total number of veins. Pricing is based on 10 minute blocks of time. A patch of veins the size of the palm of your hand may take up to 10 minutes to treat. Multiple patches can take 30 minutes or more.

What will I feel?
Most people feel a sudden burst of heat or a snap much like a rubber band snapping against the skin. Some people may feel nothing at all (more likely with lighter skin types), but most people feel only mild to moderate discomfort with laser vein removal.

Is it safe?
Laser Vein Removal is very safe when done properly. At Skinn Laser Clinic all treatments are carried out by professional and experienced staff. With any type of laser treatment, there are always potential risks, however with proper supervision and selection of lasers, those risks are minimized significantly. Possible complications include burning, blistering, hyperpigmentation (darkening) or hypopigmentation (lightening) of the skin. If any complications do occur, they are generally temporary and resolve within days to weeks. Adherence to pre and post treatment instructions also helps to minimize the risk of any complications. Test patches are also available if necessary.

When can I resume normal activities?
Clients are encouraged to resume normal daily activities almost immediately. However, strenuous or vigorous exercise and hot tubs should be avoided for at least 24 hours post treatment. Also, direct sun exposure after each treatment should be avoided for about 2 weeks.
