Why is laser hair removal the best solution?
Our Clinic, located in Mississauga, uses 2 different type of laser hair removal systems to maximize the effectiveness of the hair removal process. Each system works on a different wavelength, thus targeting more than one type of hair or skin type. The laser hair removal procedure offers effective results while maintaining the normal appearance of the skin. It uses the best technology currently available for laser hair removal, offering outstanding results with the widest range of skin tones and hair colours. The laser beam penetrates your skin and gets absorbed in the hair follicle residing under the skin surface. The laser energy destroys the hair follicle with the heat that it generates. Because the laser beam is large in diameter, it affects a large number of hair simultaneously.
What can I expect during the laser hair removal treatment? Before the laser hair removal treatment, it is important to make sure that any long unwanted hair is cut, flush with the skin. Patients agree that the procedure is not unduly painful, and certainly much less uncomfortable than electrolysis. To reduce discomfort, the laser hair removal system is equiped with a cooling mechanism that automatically removes heat from the surface of your skin before, during and after the laser hair removal process. You will not need a general anaesthesia or pain medication, but a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied to sensitive areas.
Is laser hair removal permanent? At SKINN Laser Clinic, we only use laser hair removal systems that are approved for permanent hair removal & reduction by the United States Federal Drug Administration, and by the Canadian Food and Drug agency. This means most patients will achieve long-term, stable reduction in the number of hairs re-growing in the treated areas. The amount of permanent reduction increases with the number of laser hair removal treatments. Occasionally, you may have a few hairs regrow over a period of time.
How long do a laser hair removal treatment take? Laser hair removal procedure can treat some areas in only a few minutes. Others, such as the back or legs, require 20-40 minutes. For example, laser hair removal of the underarms or bikini lines take only fifteen minutes or less.
What should I expect following the laser hair removal treatment? Once the laser hair removal treatment is complete, the area exposed to the laser is cleansed and you are free to return to your normal routine. Some patients may experience a slight reddening around the hair follicles following the laser hair removal treatment, which typically disappears within few minutes. It is always recommended to avoid sun exposure or to use sunscreen following the laser hair treatment.
Hair follicles affected by the laser hair removal treatment are lifeless and your body will attempt to cast them off over a period of time. It will seem that the hair continues to grow for one to two weeks after the procedure, but in fact these lifeless hairs will easily fall out.
Can you treat darker skin colours? At SKINN Laser Clinic, we have the newest anf most effective laser hair removal equipment that have been specifically designed to treat all skin colours, including dark skin. They are safe, affordable, and can achieve the same permanent hair reduction as seen in lighter skin types.
Is laser hair removal safe? Since only light is used to remove hair, it is totally non-invasive. Your eyes will be shielded during the treatment. While there is a slight chance of skin irritation and pigment changes, these are rare due to the type of lasers used at Skinn Laser Clinic and the training of our staff.
What is the cost? The cost of laser hair removal varies. The cost is directly associated with the time it takes to treat certain areas. At Skinn Laser Clinic we can offer very competitive and affordable laser treatments because we only use fast, state-of-the art lasers. Please call us for specific costs… ...we are happy to provide that information over the phone.
